About this site
Ryusei Games is a site where you can play board games and guessing games from around the world on a 3D board in your browser. You can rotate the board to view it from any angle, and you can also switch to a top view. Each game page covers the rules and how to play, strategy tips, and the origin and history of the game.
Besides playing against the computer, you can take turns on the same device or send a link to play a friend. No sign-up is needed, and all games are free. Ryusei Games is run by an individual, and its running costs are covered by advertising revenue.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to sign up or pay?
Neither. There are no sign-up or login features, and all games are free to play. The site’s running costs are covered by revenue from the ads shown on its pages.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. Just open the page in the browser on your phone or tablet. There’s no app to install. You can tap the board to play. On phones, you can also choose the same moves with the buttons below the board. On devices that can’t display 3D, you can play with the buttons alone.
How do I play with a friend?
On a game page, press “Play a friend (send a link)” and a link for the game appears. Send that link to your opponent through a messaging app or email. When they open it and press “Join”, the game starts. Your opponent doesn’t need to sign up either. Ludo is for 2–4 players and Chinese Checkers for 2–3, and you can also fill empty seats with the computer and start. The other games are for 2 players. A room is deleted 30 minutes after everyone has disconnected, or 24 hours after it was created.
How strong is the computer?
Every game has 3 levels to choose from: Easy, Medium, and Hard. For each game, the strength is adjusted through settings such as how many moves ahead the computer reads and how often it picks moves that aren’t the best, and Easy is the easiest to beat. The computer’s moves are calculated in the browser on your device, and on Hard, calculating a move takes up to 1.5 seconds.
Sending game statistics
Information such as the start and end of each game, whether connections in games with a friend succeeded, and 3D display failures is sent to this site’s servers. It is used to find out which games are played to the end and on which devices display or connection fails, so that bugs can be fixed and the games improved. To stop sending it, turn off the switch below.
What is sent
Game type, mode (vs computer, pass and play on one device, solo, or with a friend), computer level, game settings (the rules for Gomoku and Checkers, and the number of players for Ludo and Chinese Checkers), result, number of moves, game length range, whether connections in games with a friend succeeded and the number of reconnections, 3D display failures and rendering speed range, device type (whether it is a phone, and memory and CPU core ranges), and browser and OS type.
What is never sent
Room IDs, moves and board positions, Hit and Blow numbers, IP addresses, and GPU model names. Data is sent only to this site’s servers and is not passed to outside services. Records are deleted after 30 days.
How the records are handled, and what ads and analytics send to outside companies, is described in the privacy policy.
